The paper feed roller of Ricoh JP5000 is driven by an independent stepper motor. Together with the friction pad, it separates the top sheet of paper from the paper stack and feeds it to the registration rollers. There is a one - way clutch in the paper feed roller to ensure that it does not resist the paper feed when the registration rollers are in operation. The pressure between the paper feed roller and the friction pad can be adjusted according to the selected paper type, which is controlled by a DC motor. This allows for more precise paper feeding and reduces the occurrence of paper jams.
